This chipset, unlike the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 888+, is not prone to overheating and has established itself as one of the best solutions in terms of performance. That is why Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 looks advantageous against the background of its older brothers, because choosing this model, manufacturers do not have to think about how to cool the processor without sacrificing performance.
Xiaomi, like many other manufacturers, liked the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, and therefore the company decided to release another device on this chip. The well-known Chinese insider Digital Chat Station told a wide audience about this.
According to a source who has repeatedly shared reliable information about new products in the mobile market, the new Xiaomi smartphone is at the testing stage. In addition to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, it received a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2400 by 1080 pixels (Full HD +) and an image refresh rate of 120 Hz, as well as a main camera consisting of several modules, the main one of which has a resolution of 50 megapixels.
What kind of smartphone it is and when and under what name it will debut on the market, the source did not say. But it is highly likely that the new product will become part of the Redmi K40 series and will be called, for example, Redmi K40s.
