The Chinese company Xiaomi is preparing to release its new flagship series, which will replace the Mi 11. The Xiaomi 12 line is expected to include several more models in addition to the base flagship. Among them there will be a top version with the Ultra prefix in the name, and a lightweight flagship that will appear on the market under the name Xiaomi 12X, and not Xiaomi 12 Lite, as one might think. Insiders have already disclosed the technical characteristics of the new item.
According to sources, the Xiaomi 12X carries the model number 2112123AG and is being developed under the codename Psyche. It will be equipped with a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 by 1080 pixels (Full HD +), an image refresh rate of 120 Hz, HDR10 support and Always-On Display. The smartphone will be based on an eight-core sub-flagship chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. The amount of RAM and internal memory is not specified. But insiders said that the back panel of the smartphone will have a main camera with a main sensor of 50 megapixels. The rest of the technical characteristics of the Xiaomi 12X are still unknown, as well as its cost.
The Xiaomi 12 series is expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2022. But the base model Xiaomi 12 could debut as early as December 2021, becoming the world’s first smartphone powered by the new flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 989 chipset, which will be unveiled at the end of November at the annual Qualcomm Tech Summit 2021.
