Soon, a new player will appear on the tablet market, which has received, in fact, a second wind thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. We are talking about the Chinese company OPPO, which is preparing to release its first tablet computer with the laconic name OPPO Pad. Some of the characteristics of the new item and its cost were disclosed by the famous Chinese insider Digital Chat Station.

The source said that the first OPPO tablet will be equipped with an 11-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which will provide a smoother picture compared to tablets with a lower refresh rate. The tablet will be based on an eight-core sub-flagship chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, which will have 6 GB of RAM. A built-in 256 GB drive will be allocated for data storage. The OPPO Pad will also receive two cameras: an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling in the front and a 13-megapixel main camera on the back. The new tablet of the Chinese brand will operate under the mobile operating system Android 11 with a special version of the proprietary user interface ColorOS 12 installed on top of it, developed for tablet computers. The firmware will offer a range of tablet-specific features, including a desktop widget system, a dock, and tight integration with other mobile devices such as smartphones, smartwatches, and wireless headphones.
The exact release date of the OPPO Pad is still unknown. It is possible that the novelty will be presented before the end of 2021, that is, either in November or in December. It is also possible that the official name of the OPPO Pad will be completely different. The cost of a new tablet in the Chinese market will be around 2000 yuan, or $ 312 at the current exchange rate. Whether the device will appear outside of China and at what price, we can only guess for now. By the way, OPPO is currently working on the Reno 7 series of smartphones, which will include the Reno 7, Reno 7 SE and Reno 7 Pro models. The smartphones are due to debut this month and it is possible that the OPPO Pad will debut with them.
