On Monday, October 18, as planned, Apple held its second Fall presentation this year. The highlight of the event was a new generation of MacBook Pro with an updated design and modernized filling.

The new MacBook Pro series includes two models: 14.2-inch and 16.2-inch. Both models have received new looks and this redesign is the largest since 2016. Newer laptops sport bezel-less displays with a small fringe on top, just like the iPhone. Apple claims that the bezels around the edges of the screen have been reduced by a quarter, and the bezel at the top has been completely reduced by 60% due to the new design.
In addition to the new design, the MacBook Pro also received a new type of display. This is a mini-LED panel called Liquid Retina XDR that supports ProMotion technology with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, just like the new iPhones. Apple also ditched the Touch Bar, replacing it with traditional physical function keys, and returned MagSafe magnetic charging with fast charging, HDMI port and microSD card slot. In addition, the company has increased the battery life of new laptops. So, the 16-inch model can now work without recharging up to 21 hours when watching a video, and the 14-inch model in the same situation will last up to 17 hours.
The new MacBook Pros are available in configurations with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. They have up to 64GB of shared memory and up to 1TB of SSD storage.
Acceptance of pre-orders for new laptops started immediately after the end of the presentation, and the start of sales is scheduled for October 26. The 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at RUB 189,990 for the base configuration on the Apple M1 Pro chip with an 8-core CPU, 14-core graphics, 16GB of shared memory and 512GB of storage. A 16-inch version of the MacBook Pro in the same configuration, but with a 10-core CPU and 16-core graphics will cost 234,990 rubles.
