Just a few days ago, the Chinese company Xaomi announced the abandonment of its legendary Mi brand. This means that this year we will not see Xiaomi Mi 12. However, Xiaomi is not going to completely abandon the release of the new flagship, only it will be released under the name Xiaomi 12. In addition to the base Xiaomi 12, the Chinese company is preparing several more models of its new flagship series, which will come to replace the current Mi 11 family. The lineup will also include the top model called Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which boasts an incredible camera.
Not so long ago, insiders reported that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, formerly known as the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra, will be based on Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 895 flagship chipset. And now information about the cameras that will be equipped with the new smartphone of the Chinese brand has appeared on the Web. The popular Chinese informant Digital Chat Station on his page on the social network Weibo (analogous to Twitter) said that the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra boasts a main camera with a resolution of at least 200 megapixels. It is interesting that earlier information appeared on the Web that the new flagship will be equipped with a 192-megapixel camera, and therefore it is possible that speaking about the Digital Chat Station camera, it simply “rounded up” the resolution to 200 megapixels.
The insider also said that two other models from the Xiaomi 12 series will be equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera in combination with an ultra-wide-angle module and a camera with a periscope lens for 5x optical zoom. There is no doubt that we are talking about the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. And if the source turns out to be right, then they will receive exactly the same camera design as the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.

The Xiaomi 12 is expected to launch in December 2021. Whether Xiaomi will present all three models at the same time or start with the launch of the basic version of Xiaomi 12 is anyone’s guess.
