A new player is about to appear on the tablet market, which has found a second life with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic and the massive transition to telecommuting. We are talking about the Chinese company Realme, which is rightfully considered one of the fastest growing brands in the global mobile market.
Realme has made no secret of its interest in the tablet market. In addition, the company is actively hinting at the imminent announcement of its first tablet computer, which will receive the laconic name Realme Pad. The launch of new items, according to insiders, is scheduled for September 9th. And in anticipation of the official release, Realme Pad has shone its key specs in the popular synthetic Geekbench benchmark.
It must be said that for a long time there were rumors on the Web that the Realme Pad would be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 or 800 series chipset. However, in fact, the new Chinese tablet will be based on a single-chip platform from MediaTek. This is confirmed by Geekbench data.
Realme Pad tablet with model number RMP2102 has been spotted in the Geekbench benchmark database. According to the results of the synthetic test, he scored 326 points in single-core mode and 1144 points in multi-core mode. This result was provided to him by the eight-core processor MediaTek MT6769V / CU, which includes six cores with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz and two cores with a clock speed of 2 GHz. This chip is Helio G80. The company processor is 4 GB of RAM. And the tablet will work under the control of the mobile operating system Android 11 with the proprietary Realme UI installed on top, optimized specifically for tablets. Other specifications of the Realme Pad include a 10.4-inch display with Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels) and a 60 Hz refresh rate, as well as an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls, and a main camera on the back with the same resolution. The volume of built-in memory will be 64 GB. Whether the tablet will support expansion of memory using a microSD card is not specified. It also mentions the presence of speakers in the amount of 4 pieces and support for the stylus. Of wireless communications, it will support not only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but also 4G LTE, but most likely, support for cellular networks will be optional. Autonomous operation of the tablet will be provided by a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 7100 mAh, which is charged via the USB Type-C port located on the bottom edge of the device.
The manufacturer keeps the cost of the new tablet a secret. But insiders claim that in the Indian market, Realme Pad will be available at a price of about 20 thousand Indian rupees, or about $ 272 at the current exchange rate, which is quite expected given the company’s pricing policy.
