On Wednesday, October 13, as planned, the Chinese company OnePlus held a presentation at which it presented its new smartphone. The novelty, which has joined the flagship OnePlus 9 series, is called the OnePlus 9RT. The smartphone is markedly different from the original OnePlus 9. This is a completely new device that is geared towards gaming.

OnePlus 9RT is based on the eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. The company has 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a built-in UFS 3.1 storage of 128 or 256 GB. The screen supports HDR10 +, sRGB and P3. The hole in the upper left corner of the display houses a front-facing camera with a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor for selfies and video calling. And on the back is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main camera with OIS combined with a 16-megapixel module with a 123-degree ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

Autonomous operation of OnePlus 9RT is provided by a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 4500 mAh. It supports 65W Warp Charge fast charging via USB Type-C port. Other features of the novelty include a fingerprint scanner built into the display, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and a slot for two SIM cards. From wireless communications, the smartphone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6 ax with 4 antennas, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC for contactless payment. It runs on the Android 11 mobile operating system, on top of which the proprietary ColorOS 11 user interface is installed.

In China, pre-orders for the OnePlus 9RT opened immediately after the presentation, and it goes on sale next Tuesday, October 19. The suggested retail price of the smartphone starts at 3300 yuan or 510 US dollars at the current exchange rate for the basic version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. The device is offered in three colors: black, silver and blue.
